COMMENTS:
Due to its hefty size and construction, this knife is able to withstand a more constant level of use in the most demanding applications. It is well suited to the professional mariner and/or offshore sailor.
Of special note is the partially serrated blade... with one-handed operation and an automatic safety lock. It cuts effortlessly through high-tech fibers and larger diameter ropes & rigging. The blade lock is released by pressing the red Victorinox™ emblem on the outside of the scales.
The marlinspike is flat (patterned after the Swedish Fid), which creates the advantage of more working space for tucking strands while splicing and rigging. To use the spike, just slide it in flat then turn it 90-degrees to create an opening. It also incorporates a sewing eye for canvas, leather and webbing repairs, plus a shackler slot.
