The classic Nantucket Sailor's Bracelet is handmade using pure hemp yacht-rigging rope, which is quite handsome and a lot more rugged than cotton! It is a continuous weave, slip-on type bracelet that is traditionally worn throughout the entire sailing season.
We construct it using what's called a 3-Lead, 10-Bight Turk's Head Knot, which is doubled three times, pulled to the correct size, and then parallel bound with 4 Constrictor Knots using waxed sailmaker's twine. So unlike similar bracelets, the Nantucket can never come untied, and comes with a 5-year warranty!
Slip-on Sizing:
To ensure the correct size, you'll need a cloth measuring tape (or a piece of string and a ruler). Measure all the way around the thickest part of your hand, with your thumb squeezed tightly into your palm as shown:
*For best results, be sure to measure the same hand you are planning to wear your bracelet on (left or right). If you're not sure, just measure both hands and go with the larger dimension.
