An elegant, yet durable marine leather for upholstery or similar projects aboard the ship. Beautiful, multi-tone patina interacts nicely with light and accentuates the natural leather grain for a truly authentic, vintage appearance.
Weighs 2.5 oz per square foot, with an average thickness of 1/16". Semi-smooth, glazed finish with natural texture. Soft temper combines excellent strength with a supple, cushioned feel. Easily worked around tight corners and bends. Slightly stretchy.
HOW IT'S MADE:
Each hide is prepared through a traditional single-stage tanning process, followed by an infusion of special waxes and oils for protection against the elements. Due to its lighter weight and thickness, this leather is normally considered ideal for cushions, upholstery, headliners, hull-side coverings, and other similar projects aboard the classic boat, yacht or ship.
Leather is significantly more durable than fabric. It is naturally puncture, tear and flame resistant, while providing a luxurious feel. It is not "sticky" on bare skin like vinyl, and doesn't emit toxic fumes.
Although unaffected by occasional exposure to sun and salt water, this leather provides the best performance when selected for interior use, or for exterior applications which are normally covered or semi-protected from continuous, direct exposure 24/7/365. Cleaning, if needed, is generally accomplished with a slightly damp cloth.
SUGGESTED USES:
Cushions, seatbacks and upholstery... headliners and hull lining... plus durable and elegant coverings for all kinds of other fittings, surfaces and other DIY craft projects aboard the ship. Can be punched, handsewn, machine sewn, glued, brass-tacked, grommeted, riveted or even stapled.

Available in 5 colors. Each hide is guaranteed to be a minimum of 45+ square feet. Exact shape will vary from hide to hide (depending on the shape of the cow!). Please note these hides are produced in limited quantities, there is a 7-10 day handling time prior to shipment.
